About the Scholarship
The Clarendon Fund is the University of Oxford's largest graduate scholarship scheme, awarding around 140 new scholarships each year across every academic division. Its defining feature is that there are no restrictions on nationality, residence, or field of study, which makes it one of the most open elite scholarships for Nepali students.
Clarendon Scholars join a community of high-achieving graduate students with their own events and networks.
What's Covered
The scholarship pays your full course fees, including the higher Overseas (international) rate that applies to Nepali students, plus an annual grant for living costs of at least £20,780 (2025 to 2026 figure, indexed to rise each year).
Funding normally continues for the full period of fee liability for your course.
Eligibility for Nepali Students
Nepali students are eligible on the same footing as everyone else. The decisive factor is winning a place on an eligible Oxford graduate course and demonstrating academic excellence; most Clarendon Scholars hold a first-class degree or equivalent.
English-language requirements are set per course by Oxford, so confirm the exact level on your course page.
How to Apply
You do not apply to Clarendon separately. Submit your standard Oxford graduate course application by the relevant December or January deadline, and you are automatically considered for the scholarship.
Decisions are released from spring onwards. If you have not heard by mid-June, you can assume you were not selected for that cycle.
