About the Scholarship
The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship is run by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and managed by Campus France. It is designed to help French higher-education institutions attract top international students at Master's and PhD level.
Because the institution nominates candidates, your first step is to apply to a French university and ask its international office whether it will put you forward.
What's Covered
Effective from January 2026, the scholarship pays a monthly allowance of β¬1,200 for Master's students or β¬2,100 for PhD candidates. It also covers a return international airfare, domestic travel within France, health insurance, and assistance with housing and cultural activities.
Important: the Eiffel scholarship does not pay tuition fees. At most public French universities, tuition for international students is low, but you should budget for it separately.
Eligibility for Nepali Students
Nepali citizens are eligible because the only nationality exclusion is for French nationals. You should be no older than about 29 for a Master's or 35 for a PhD, with a strong academic record, and your field should fall within the programme's priority areas.
You cannot have previously been rejected by the Eiffel programme and reapply, so make your single application count.
How to Apply
Secure admission or contact with a participating French institution first. The institution prepares and submits the Eiffel application on your behalf to Campus France, usually by early January.
Applications sent directly by students are declared ineligible, so work with the university's scholarship office and respect its earlier internal nomination deadline.
