Citizens of 183 countries (verify Nepal via the official FCS list). Must be born after December 31, 1990. A mandatory letter of support from a Swiss academic supervisor is required. Degree must be completed by July 31, 2026.

About the Scholarship

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are offered by the Federal Commission for Scholarships (FCS) to promote international exchange and research cooperation. The program is open to citizens of 183 countries, making Nepal-eligible students likely to qualify.

Scholarships are available for postgraduate research (Master's, PhD, Post-Doc) and fine arts study.

What's Covered

Round-trip airfare, a monthly stipend to cover accommodation and living expenses, housing allowance, a half-fare public transport card valid for one year, health insurance, and in some cases tuition fees depending on the university.

Key Requirement: Swiss Supervisor

Unlike most scholarships, the Swiss Excellence Scholarship requires you to first identify and secure a letter of support from a professor or supervisor at a Swiss university before you can apply. Start this process early — at least 6 months before the deadline.
