GKS & Scholarships to Study in South Korea for Nepali Students (2025–2026)

South Korea has rapidly expanded its scholarship offerings to international students over the past two decades as part of its strategy to internationalize Korean universities. The flagship program is the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS, formerly known as Korean Government Scholarship Program or KGSP), a fully-funded scholarship program covering tuition, living expenses, airfare, and Korean language training.

Beyond GKS, virtually every major Korean university offers its own scholarship programs for international students. For RA positions, personalized faculty contact is essential. Email potential supervisors 6-12 months before application deadlines.
