Western University (est. 1878) is a research-intensive Canadian university in London, Ontario, home to the top-ranked Ivey Business School and 42,000+ students.

Western University, formally the University of Western Ontario, was founded in 1878 and is located in London, Ontario, Canada. It is a member of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities, placing it among the country's most research-active institutions, and enrolls more than 42,000 students from over 134 countries.

The university is organised across 12 faculties and schools, with particular strengths in business, medicine, law, and the sciences. Its Ivey Business School has been ranked first in Canada for MBA programs by Bloomberg Businessweek for nine of the past ten years. Schulich Medicine and Dentistry is one of a small number of medical schools in Canada, and the university also fields strong programs in engineering, health sciences, and the social sciences.

The main campus spans roughly 400 acres in north London, Ontario, a mid-sized city roughly two hours from Toronto by road. London has a lower cost of living compared to Toronto or Vancouver, which makes day-to-day expenses more manageable for international students. Western's campus includes a full range of student services and residence options on-site.
