Nepali citizens in good health, under 35 (Master's) or under 40 (PhD). Nepal has a strong bilateral scholarship relationship with China. Can apply via the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu or directly through participating Chinese universities.

About the Scholarship

The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) is one of the most popular fully funded scholarships among Nepali students due to Nepal's close ties with China. Over 270 Chinese universities participate in the program.

Many Nepali students successfully receive this scholarship each year through both the Embassy track and the university-nominated track.

What's Covered

Full tuition fees, free on-campus accommodation (or a housing subsidy), a monthly stipend of CNY 2,500 for undergraduates, CNY 3,000 for Master's students, or CNY 3,500 for PhD candidates, plus comprehensive medical insurance.

Application Routes from Nepal

Type A — Embassy Track: Apply through the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. The Embassy has a quota and runs its own selection.

Type B — University Track: Contact individual Chinese universities directly. Many have their own CSC quotas and accept direct applications through the CSC online system.
