Saxion University of Applied Sciences is a publicly funded university of applied sciences (hogeschool) in the Netherlands, with its main campus in Enschede and additional campuses in Deventer and Apeldoorn. The institution enrolls approximately 27,500 students from 87 nationalities, of whom around 2,500 are international students. Founded through a 1998 merger with roots tracing to 1875, Saxion is one of the largest applied sciences universities in the Netherlands.

Saxion's academic offering spans over 60 English-taught bachelor's, master's, and short degree programs across fields including engineering, creative technology, business, hospitality management, health care, and information technology. The Saxion Hospitality Business School is an affiliate member of UN Tourism, and the university maintains an active research and entrepreneurship ecosystem with roughly 500 official institutional partners. The engineering and IT programs are based primarily at the Enschede campus, while hospitality and business programs are spread across campuses.

Enschede is located in the Twente region of eastern Netherlands, near the German border, and is connected by rail to Amsterdam and other major Dutch cities. The city has a notable student population relative to its size, owing to both Saxion and the University of Twente being based there. Saxion is accredited and operates under Dutch higher education quality assurance frameworks, though it does not appear in the main QS or Times Higher Education world university rankings, which is typical for applied sciences institutions (hogescholen) that are evaluated under separate professional education criteria.
