Zuyd University of Applied Sciences is a Dutch hogeschool with ~14,500 students across Maastricht, Heerlen, and Sittard, strong in hospitality and business.

Zuyd University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Zuyd) is a publicly funded university of applied sciences established in 2001, with campuses in Maastricht, Heerlen, and Sittard in the Limburg region of the southeastern Netherlands. It enrolls approximately 14,500 to 15,000 students and employs around 1,650 staff, making it one of the larger hogescholen in the country. The institution is fully accredited by NVAO, the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation.

Zuyd offers over 40 bachelor's and 12 master's degree programmes, with eight bachelor's programmes available in English, including International Business, Hotel Management, Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, European Studies, and Interdisciplinary Arts, primarily delivered at the Maastricht campus. Its Hotel Management programme ranks among the top globally, with Zuyd placing in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 at #51–100 for Hospitality and Leisure Management. The university emphasises small-group teaching and practical, work-oriented learning.

Maastricht, where most English-taught programmes are located, is a compact, historically rich city close to the Belgian and German borders, and hosts a notably international student community. The Limburg region sits within the Meuse-Rhine Euregion, offering students proximity to Brussels, Cologne, and Antwerp. The university has consistently ranked in the top three among the larger Dutch universities of applied sciences in national quality surveys.
