About Pusan National University

Pusan National University (PNU / 부산대학교) is the leading national university in Busan, South Korea's second-largest city and main port. Founded in 1946, PNU has 16 colleges and over 30,000 enrolled students, with particular strengths in naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, and business — disciplines that align well with South Korea's shipbuilding and logistics industries concentrated in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam corridor.

For Nepali students, PNU offers a compelling combination: tuition of approximately KRW 1,900,000–2,200,000 per semester ($1,400–$1,630), a large and active international student community, and Busan's position as a coastal city with relatively lower rents than Seoul. The Graduate School of International Studies at PNU offers an English-medium master's program in Korean Studies and International Relations.
