Central Texas College (CTC) is a public two-year community college established in 1965 and first opened to students in September 1967. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and awards associate degrees in arts, science, and applied science, along with more than 40 certificate programs. The main campus covers more than 500 acres on land donated by the U.S. Army and sits between Killeen and Copperas Cove in central Texas.
CTC's academic offerings include over 100 programs delivered fully online, alongside on-campus instruction in fields such as business, health sciences, information technology, criminal justice, and liberal arts. The college has a long-standing relationship with the U.S. military, having expanded to on-base instruction at Fort Cavazos in 1970, Europe in 1974, and now operating across more than 20 U.S. military installations worldwide.
The main campus is located adjacent to Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), one of the largest active U.S. Army installations in the world, giving the college a distinctly military-connected student body. As of Fall 2021, enrollment stood at approximately 7,649 students. Optional Practical Training (OPT)
