About Community College of Philadelphia
Community college in Philadelphia, PA. Strong healthcare and technical programs serving urban community.
Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) is a public, open-admission two-year institution founded in 1964, which began classes in 1965. It is the largest public institution of higher education in Philadelphia and the sixth largest in Pennsylvania, serving approximately 18,710 credit-enrolled students as of 2024-2025.
CCP offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs across seven broad areas: Business, Entrepreneurship and Law; Creative Arts; Design, Construction and Transportation; Education and Human Services; Health Care; Liberal Arts and Communications; and Science and Technology. Its nursing program has been designated a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing continuously since 2004, making it one of the college's most distinguished offerings.
The main campus sits at 1700 Spring Garden Street in central Philadelphia, with three additional regional centers across the city. Philadelphia's location gives students access to a dense network of four-year universities, healthcare employers, and cultural institutions. More than three-quarters of CCP transfer-program graduates continue on to four-year institutions, and 85% of recent working graduates are employed in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

For Nepali students
- CCP is one of the most affordable pathways into a US degree for Nepali students: non-resident (international) tuition is approximately $477 per credit hour for 2025-2026, which translates to roughly $12,400–$13,000 per year for a full-time load, far below most US four-year universities.
- The college's strong transfer agreements with regional four-year institutions mean a Nepali student can complete an associate degree at CCP and then transfer into a bachelor's program, significantly reducing total US education costs while still earning a degree from a four-year university.
- International students on an F-1 visa are supported by a dedicated Office of International Student Services and an active International Student Organization; the campus draws students from more than 50 countries, giving Nepali enrollees an established multicultural peer network.
- Health Care programs, especially nursing, which holds a national Center of Excellence designation, and Science and Technology pathways are well-suited to common Nepali academic interests, and Philadelphia's large hospital and biomedical sector offers practical experience in those fields.
