  • ECU's nursing and health sciences programs are among the most affordable pathways to US healthcare credentials for international students, with out-of-state tuition of approximately $23,715 per year, well below the average for comparable programs at private universities.
  • International students in STEM-designated programs at ECU can apply for a 24-month OPT extension under the US STEM OPT rule, giving graduates up to 3 years of post-study work authorization in the United States, a critical benefit for Nepali students building a career or pathway to permanent residency.
  • ECU draws students from 73 countries and reports that nearly 90% of alumni are employed or continuing education within six months of graduation, reflecting strong career outcomes. Graduate assistantships providing around $9,000 per academic year are available for master's and PhD students, partially offsetting tuition costs.
  • The university's low cost relative to peer US institutions and its top-three best-value ranking in North Carolina make it a practical option for Nepali students who need to balance quality credentials with manageable debt.
