About Red Rocks Community College
Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) is a public community college with two campuses located in Lakewood and Arvada, Colorado.
Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) is a public two-year institution founded in 1969 and part of the Colorado Community College System. It operates two campuses, the main campus in Lakewood and a second campus in Arvada, and serves approximately 8,400 students. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
RRCC offers 125 degree programs and 285 certificate programs across fields including health careers, computer technology, fire science, and law enforcement. Its Rocky Mountain Education Center is an OSHA-authorized safety training hub serving six states, and its CISCO Academy and multimedia technology programs are well regarded regionally. The college awarded more than 2,300 degrees and certificates in 2024.
The Lakewood campus sits about 15 miles west of downtown Denver, giving students practical access to Colorado's largest job market. RRCC has guaranteed transfer agreements with all Colorado public four-year universities, including a formal articulation agreement with Colorado School of Mines, making it a structured pathway to a bachelor's degree at significantly lower upfront cost.

Optional Practical Training (OPT)
All graduates qualify for 12-month OPT. STEM-designated programs (CS, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Sciences) qualify for 24-month STEM OPT extension — 36 months total work authorisation.
For Nepali students
- RRCC's non-resident tuition (which applies to international F-1 students) is approximately $718 per credit hour for Fall 2025–Summer 2026, totalling roughly $21,500 per year for 30 credit hours, considerably lower than most US four-year universities, which makes it a cost-accessible entry point for Nepali students.
- The college issues I-20 forms for both ESL and academic/certificate programs, providing a clear F-1 visa pathway; its International Student Services office ([email protected]) handles advising and I-20 processing directly.
- Guaranteed transfer agreements with all Colorado public universities, including Colorado State University and the University of Colorado system, mean a Nepali student can complete two years at RRCC and transfer into a four-year bachelor's program, cutting total US degree costs substantially while maintaining quality.
- F-1 students at community colleges are eligible for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) during their studies and Optional Practical Training (OPT) after graduating and transferring to a qualifying four-year institution, preserving US post-study work rights on the standard one-year OPT timeline.
