For Nepali students

  • SUNY Brockport has one of the more established Nepali student communities among SUNY campuses, with approximately 95 Nepali students enrolled, making Nepal one of the largest source countries in its international student body. The university has publicly acknowledged this community and committed institutional support for Nepali students.
  • Out-of-state tuition and fees for undergraduates run approximately $15,800–$16,200 per year (2025-2026), well below the national average for comparable US universities, making it one of the more affordable accredited public institutions available to international students on an F-1 visa.
  • After graduation, F-1 students in eligible STEM fields, including the Computing Sciences MS program (Cybersecurity, AI/ML tracks), can apply for a 24-month STEM OPT extension on top of the standard 12-month OPT, providing up to three years of US work authorization without requiring employer H-1B sponsorship.
  • SUNY Brockport offers a STEM Incentive scholarship program for qualifying students, and its status as a public SUNY institution means it participates in standard federal and state financial aid mechanisms available to eligible students, lowering the effective cost of attendance relative to private US universities.
