About Tarrant County College
Large community college in Fort Worth, TX area. Strong transfer and technical programs.
Tarrant County College (TCC) is a public two-year community college district established in 1965 and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It operates six campuses across the Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, including a downtown Trinity River Campus and a fully online platform (TCC Connect). Fall 2025 enrollment reached approximately 49,393 students, making it one of the largest community colleges in Texas.
TCC offers associate degrees, certificates, and workforce training programs spanning business, health sciences, information technology, engineering transfer pathways, and skilled trades. Its transfer center maintains articulation agreements with dozens of Texas universities, including a 2025 guaranteed transfer pathway to Texas State University for students who complete 30 credit hours with a 2.25 GPA or above. The college also operates six collegiate high schools offering dual-enrollment programs.
TCC's five physical campuses are spread across Tarrant County, with the flagship South Campus in Fort Worth and additional sites in Hurst, Arlington, and northwest Fort Worth. The college received a fresh 10-year SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation in 2024. It consistently reports one of the lowest tuition rates among the top 10 community colleges in Texas.

For Nepali students
- TCC is an affordable entry point into US higher education: international student tuition and fees run approximately USD 8,370–10,230 per year, with a total estimated cost of attendance around USD 30,400–32,850 for 12 months, significantly below most four-year universities. For Nepali students watching budget closely, completing the first two years at TCC before transferring to a Texas university can save roughly USD 10,000 per year.
- TCC's strong articulation agreements with University of Texas at Arlington, Texas State University, and other Texas schools give Nepali students a structured, low-risk pathway to a bachelor's degree, with guaranteed admission to TXST available once 30 transfer credits are completed.
- F-1 student visas are accepted, and the college has a dedicated International Student Admissions and Compliance office to assist with documentation and enrollment. International students who complete a qualifying associate degree and subsequently transfer to a four-year US university remain eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT) or STEM OPT after earning the bachelor's degree at the receiving institution.
- No on-campus scholarships for international students were confirmed on TCC's official site, so prospective Nepali students should plan to be self-funded or seek external scholarships (e.g., through the Nepali Education Foundation or private sponsors) before applying.
