For Nepali students
- UD's engineering programs, particularly chemical engineering, materials science, and the new electrochemical engineering master's, are competitive options for Nepali STEM graduates who qualify for 36 months of STEM OPT after completing a STEM-designated degree in the United States, significantly extending post-study work authorization.
- International undergraduate freshmen are automatically considered for merit scholarships of $5,000–$15,000 per year with no separate application, and the most competitive applicants can be invited to compete for Distinguished Scholars awards that may cover full tuition, room, and board for four years.
- Annual international undergraduate tuition plus fees for 2026–27 is approximately $45,020 (tuition $42,470 plus mandatory fees $2,550), placing UD at a mid-tier cost level among US public research universities, below flagship state schools in larger states but backed by strong research facilities.
- With roughly 1,946 international students on campus (10% of enrollment), including a substantial graduate-level international cohort, Nepali students are likely to find existing South Asian student networks; UD's proximity to the Philadelphia–Wilmington corridor also means access to one of the larger South Asian diaspora communities on the US East Coast.
