The University of Hartford (UHart) is a private, independent university founded in 1957 and located in West Hartford, Connecticut. It enrolls approximately 6,022 students across undergraduate and graduate programs, organized into seven distinct schools and colleges including the Barney School of Business, the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, and the nationally recognized Hartt School of music. The campus spans 350 acres and is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
UHart is particularly strong in engineering, music performance and education, business, nursing, and the visual and performing arts. The Hartford Art School and the Hartt School have established national reputations in their respective fields, and the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture ranks among the top 80 engineering programs in the United States according to US News.
