For Nepali students
- Winthrop's international undergraduate tuition is approximately $28,000 per year, considerably lower than flagship state universities, making it a cost-accessible option for Nepali families seeking a US degree without the price tag of larger research universities.
- The International Center offers the International Ambassador Scholarship, which provides a $250 per semester award plus an out-of-state tuition grant for F/J visa holders who maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete 30 service hours per semester; merit-based freshman and transfer scholarships are also automatically evaluated at admission for international applicants.
- Graduates on F-1 visas are eligible for 12 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in any field, and those in qualifying STEM programs such as Computer Science and Cybersecurity may apply for a 24-month OPT extension, enabling up to 3 years of US work experience after graduation.
- The proximity to Charlotte, a major financial and tech hub, gives Winthrop students access to internships, networking, and employment opportunities in banking, healthcare, and technology sectors, which is particularly relevant for Business and Computer Science students from Nepal.
