About AIBT
AIBT is a private vocational education provider in Brisbane offering diplomas and certificates in business, IT, hospitality, and community services.
Australia Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT) is a private Registered Training Organisation (RTO 41138, CRICOS 03430J), not a university. Founded in 2015 under the legal entity Brighton Pacific Pty Ltd, it offers vocational qualifications, Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diplomas, and Advanced Diplomas, across campuses in Brisbane (Upper Mount Gravatt), Sydney (Blacktown), and Hobart. It is regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) under the VET (vocational education and training) framework, and its qualifications are nationally recognised in Australia.
AIBT's programs are grouped under six schools: Branson School of Business and Technology, Diana School of Community Services, Edison School of Tech Sciences, Sheldon School of Hospitality, Ace Aviation Aerospace Academy, and Bespoke Grammar School of English. Popular courses include the Diploma of Business, Diploma of Information Technology, Diploma of Community Services, and Diploma of Hospitality Management. Tuition fees for international students range from approximately AUD 12,000 to AUD 16,000 per year depending on the program. These are vocational qualifications, not bachelor degrees.
AIBT has enrolled over 10,000 international students from more than 80 countries. Prospective students should be aware that ASQA initiated cancellation proceedings against AIBT's registration in 2019 over concerns about marketing practices, training standards, and staffing. AIBT contested the decision through the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and has continued operating. The institution does not hold any QS, Times Higher Education, or Shanghai world university ranking, as it is a vocational college rather than a degree-granting university.

For Nepali students
- Nepali students considering AIBT should note that it offers an affordable entry point into Australian vocational qualifications, with diploma-level tuition of approximately AUD 12,000–16,000 per year, significantly below Australian university fees.
- Diploma graduates may be eligible for the Post-Vocational Education Work stream of the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), which grants up to 18 months of work rights in Australia, though eligibility depends on the occupation match and skills assessment requirements introduced in 2024.
- However, Nepali students were among those significantly affected by AIBT's 2019 ASQA regulatory action, particularly those enrolled in the Diploma of Nursing, whose qualifications were not recognised by ANMAC. Prospective students should independently verify AIBT's current CRICOS registration status on the official CRICOS register (cricos.education.gov.au) before enrolling.
- AIBT does not hold global university rankings and does not offer bachelor's or master's degrees; Nepali students seeking degree-level qualifications for skilled migration or postgraduate pathways should consider this limitation carefully before choosing AIBT over a TEQSA-registered Australian university.
