About Kaplan Business School

Kaplan Business School is a higher education institution in Australia.  The school began offering degrees in 2008, in Adelaide, before expanding to other major cities across Australia.

Kaplan Business School (KBS) is a private higher education provider registered with TEQSA (PRV12094, CRICOS 02426B) and operating under the Kaplan International group, a division of Kaplan Inc. It began offering degrees in Adelaide in 2008 and has since grown to over 10,000 students across campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane. KBS holds self-accreditation status for business courses, one of only thirteen institutions in Australia granted this by TEQSA as of 2022.

KBS concentrates exclusively on business and technology disciplines. Its programs span accounting, business administration, marketing, information technology, entrepreneurship, health services management, and data analytics, at diploma, bachelor, graduate certificate, and master levels. The MBA is the most popular MBA program among international students in Australia by enrolment (2022 data). In the 2024 QILT Graduate Outcomes Survey, 93.5% of KBS postgraduates secured full-time employment within four months of graduation, and postgraduate earners averaged 20% above the national university mean.

The Sydney campus occupies premises at 55 Elizabeth Street and 56 York Street in the CBD, close to Martin Place station. Students have access to a student lounge, computer labs, and quiet study spaces. KBS does not appear in QS or Times Higher Education global rankings, as it is a specialist non-research provider, but it ranked above every Australian public university on overall quality of educational experience and teaching quality in the 2024 QILT Student Experience Survey.

For Nepali students

  • Nepal falls under KBS's South Asia International Student Scholarship, which opens fee-reduction pathways for Nepali applicants applying from outside Australia, requiring only a 60% equivalent in prior studies, a realistic threshold for most Nepali undergraduates.
  • KBS's focus on accounting, business administration, and IT directly matches the programs Nepali students most commonly pursue in Australia, and the school's trimester calendar (three intakes per year) gives flexibility for students who miss a semester-one deadline.
  • International graduates of KBS bachelor and master programs qualify for Australia's post-study work stream under the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), giving two years for bachelor's and two to four years for master's graduates depending on study location, which is a key pathway to Australian permanent residency.
  • Annual undergraduate tuition for the Bachelor of Business is approximately AUD 23,040 (around USD 15,000) per year, making KBS more affordable than most Group of Eight universities while still delivering recognised Australian qualifications in a major financial city.
