For Nepali students
Sydney has Australia's second-largest Nepali community. UNSW Nepali Student Association is active and well-networked.
- UNSW's Engineering, Computer Science, and Law programs are among the strongest in Australia and ranked in the global top 50, making it a strong academic fit for Nepali students targeting competitive careers in tech, resources, or professional services.
- International undergraduates are automatically considered for the Australia's Global University Award (AUD 10,000 one-off) and may apply for the International Student Award (15% tuition reduction for the duration of study) or the highly competitive International Scientia Coursework Scholarship (full tuition); the UNSW College Regional Merit Scholarship explicitly lists Nepal as an eligible country.
- Graduates are eligible for Australia's Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), which grants 2–4 years of post-study work rights in Australia depending on the degree level and location, a key pathway for Nepali graduates seeking international work experience.
- Annual international undergraduate tuition ranges from approximately AUD 47,000 (Arts/Law) to AUD 61,000 (Engineering/Science), placing UNSW at a premium cost tier; however, the high international student proportion (52%) means strong South-Asian student networks and dedicated international support services on campus.
