For Nepali students

  • Nepal and China share a strong bilateral relationship and the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), open to Nepali citizens, covers full tuition, dormitory accommodation, a monthly stipend, and medical insurance at Tsinghua, making it one of the most financially accessible routes to a world top-15 university.
  • Tsinghua's engineering, computer science, and management programs are globally top-ranked, aligning well with the fields Nepali students most commonly pursue abroad; the university also admits international undergraduates through its English-taught science and engineering tracks without requiring Chinese language proficiency at entry.
  • Tuition for self-funded international undergraduates in science and engineering is RMB 30,000 per year (approximately USD 4,100), which is substantially lower than comparable universities in the US, UK, or Australia, making China a cost-competitive destination even without a scholarship.
  • China does not offer a post-study work visa equivalent to those in the UK or Australia, so Nepali students should factor in career planning before arrival; however, Tsinghua's global alumni network and the strength of its degree in technical fields provide strong employment prospects both in Nepal and internationally.
